COMO Uma Paro is our flagship Uma lodge in Bhutan — an intimate, adventure-focused resort that sits atop a gently sloping blue pine tree-clad hill, overlooking the town of Paro. It is ideally positioned to explore the wider region accompanied by our expert English-speaking guides.
Transport between Uma lodges is made by car and is arranged for guests by Uma staff. It is not possible to hire cars for private use in Bhutan. Our sister Bhutanese resort, COMO Uma Punakha, is a five-hour drive north from COMO Uma Paro.
Built of handcrafted stone, wood and tiles, our lodge feels at once Bhutanese and luxurious with wood furniture vividly painted with flowers by local artists. Indian cotton bedcovers have hand-stitched patterns paying homage to Bhutan’s Buddhist culture and colours, and hand-knotted rugs come from nearby Nepal.
